Pride & Popularity by Jenni James Jenni James has written an entire series based on Jane Austin novels. I love Jane Austin, and I feel like Jenni James did a great job of following the basic story lines while creating an entire new story and world Each of the novels take place in the same town or have similar characters. They are a lot of fun and definitely worth checking out. She has several out right now, so if you like them, you'll have a lot to read. In Pride & Popularity, Chloe Hart does not like the popular crowd, especially Taylor Anderson. The story goes from there. It's funny and sweet and just a great read.

Unmaking Hunter Kennedy by Anne Eliot I read Anne Eliot's first book  Almost: A Love Story  and I really enjoyed it. So when I found out she had another book out I was super excited. I really enjoyed Unmaking Hunter Kennedy. It had a sweet story and a unique perspective on the whole falling in love with a celebrity factor.  In the story Vere, who is kind of a geek, is charged with the task of helping Hunter Kennedy hide from the press so he can deal with some trouble that he has run into.  The story is good. Genuinely fun and heartwarming. If you haven't read it, you should check it out. What did you think of the book?

Working It Out by Rachael Anderson Rachael Anderson is one of the indie authors that I automatically buy the book when I realize that she has a new one released. She does a great job building the relationships, and having the characters really connect, plus all of her romances are clean, which is something I look for when I'm reading. In Working It Out, Grace works as a physical therapist, and she gets a patient Seth. Her first impression is not very good, and then there is the additional complication that he is her patient. The relationship builds and there are a lot of ups and downs that go throughout the story.  I really enjoyed it, and if you like it, I suggest that you check out her other work as well.

The Outer Edge of Heaven by Jaclyn M Hawkes Jaclyn Hawkes is likely my favorite Indie author. She has written a slew of books, mostly romance, very clean with religious overtones. She has a historical book Warrior's Moon A Love Story.  I stumbled into her by reading The Most Important Catch. I'veenjoyed everything I've read by her, and I highly recommend reading her books. In The Outer Edge of Heaven,  Charlie decides to go help out on a ranch over the summer instead of taking on a high powered internship. Charlie wants something different from what her parents want from her, and this book is about how Charlie finds her way. Of course there is a very swoon worthy leading man involved as well. Have you read anything by Jaclyn Hawkes? What did you think? Just a heads up, she writes LDS fiction, and some of her books are a bit heavy handed when it comes to religious themes. Slammed by Collen Hoover I first read this more than a year ago. She already had the series completed, which is Slammed, Point of No Retreat, and This Girl . I enjoyed all three of them, as well as her other books Hopeless and Losing Hope. Colleen Hoover just has Maybe Someday  come out, which is published by Simon and Schuster. This is the story of Layken and Will. Layken's father just died and they move as a result. She meets the boy across the street, and they have an obvious and real attraction to each other. And then stuff happens (I don't want to give it away) and they can't be together anymore. I really enjoyed the story, and I liked the setting of the book, the background of the beat poetry, and all of the characters in this book. It is definitely worth reading. I like her writing style, and it's definitely worth checking out. Another plus is that the writing is really quite clean, no graphic sex scenes or anything like that, in any of her b...

I'm still trying to work out the schedule for posting on here. I'm thinking that Tuesdays and Thursdays might work better for me. But it's been longer than I meant to go without posting, so I thought that I would post something exciting today. It's finally Friday. I look forward to this day every week, because it means I can sleep in tomorrow. But that's out because my daughter has a basketball game, and we have to leave about the same time we would if she was going to school. Today's fabulous it the wonderful spring weather. After a week of gloomy rainstorms, it is finally sunny. And it's just gorgeous out. I'm so glad that I can enjoy the good weather. It's not hot, just warm. The perfect day for a picnic or to take a good book out in a hammock. What's your fabulous today?

In an attempt to begin updating on a regular basis, I thought I'd feature a great indie read each week on Mondays. Hopefully, I can add two more posts in throughout the week as well. We'll start with this though. Easy by Tammara Webber Tammara Webber started out as an indie publisher with her book Between the Lines, which is a great read. She's since gotten an agent and a publisher, and I'm not sure if she published this independently originally or not. This is my favorite book by her to date, and I'm really looking forward to reading Breakable that comes out at the beginning of May. This is a new adult book, but it is not a graphic erotica book. New adult sometimes reads more like Erotica, and this doesn't. It's a great read. YOu should definitely check it out!

This was a sweet story of a princess who falls in love with a commoner. There were enough twists and turns to keep me interested in the story, and I really did like the main love interest. Ella tries to make good decisions, and the writing was clean and easy to read. If you are looking for a sweet love story (that is clean), you should definitely check this out. Well the title isn't quite set in stone, but the cover is ready to go.  I really like it. I think it does a great job portraying the mood of the book.  I'll let you know the release date as soon I've got the solid date sent!  Have a great weekend!

Things are taking longer than I planned when it comes to self-publishing. After I made the initial decision in January, things have happened in life that have distracted me some. It can be difficult to work on a project like this when you have other things pulling to get your attention (which actually pay money.) Right now I have a mock up of the cover. It really fits the mood of the book, and I hope that you all like it. I can't share until it is finalized, but it does have to do with the book. I hope that it is eye catching enough to draw people in on Amazon. On a totally random note, I was shopping today and I found a bag that had lime popsicles. Growing up my favorite popsicles were lime. My favorite Kool-Aid was lime, and my favorite type of sno-cone was lime. But now that I'm buying all of these things for my kid, I'm sad to say that the lime flavor I love just isn't out there. I'm excited to announce that Dreaming Isis will soon be available to purchase. This is great story that has been in the works for nearly four years. The first version is very different from the final version, and I've had a lot of help along the way for me to get it there.
